- Meaning and history 1998 In 1998, the athletic logo of the University of North Florida in Jacksonville featured the bird’s head inside a blue circle with white filling.
- 1999 – 2009 In 1999, the bird was redrawn and the lettering “UNF Athletics” appeared below it.
- 2010 – 2013 In 2010, the UNF Ospreys logo went through another update.
- The old wordmark was replaced by the words “North” and “Florida” placed above and below the bird respectively.
- As a result, it grew narrower and moved above the bird.
- Eventually, it was removed altogether.
